Sonia Boutique is a trading name of Ten Thirteen LLC, a Missouri limited liability company. We run this website and the online store attached to it, along with the tools, features, and services that make up the shopping experience, which we refer to below as the Services. Our store runs on Shopify, which supplies the underlying technology. This policy sets out what personal information we gather, why we gather it, and who we pass it to when you browse the store, place an order, or write to us. Ten Thirteen LLC is responsible for the personal information described here. If anything in our Terms of Service appears to conflict with this policy on a question of personal data, this policy governs.

Please read it before using the Services. Continuing to use the store means you understand the practices described below.

Information We Collect

Personal information means anything that identifies you or could reasonably be tied back to you. It does not cover anonymised or aggregated data that can no longer be connected to any individual. Depending on how you use the store and what the law permits, we may hold your name, billing and delivery addresses, telephone number, and email address. We may hold payment details such as the card or account used, the amount, and confirmation that a transaction went through, though the card number itself is handled by our payment processor rather than stored by us. If you open an account we hold your username, an encrypted password, and any preferences you save.

We also keep a record of your activity in the store, including the pieces you view, add to your cart, purchase, return, exchange, or cancel, along with your order history. Anything you write to us, such as a support message, is retained alongside your order. Finally, we collect technical information from your device automatically, including browser type, network details, IP address, and identifiers that distinguish one visitor from another, together with a record of how you moved through the store.

Where the Information Comes From

Most of it comes directly from you, when you place an order, create an account, subscribe to our emails, or send us a message. A second stream arrives automatically from your device as you browse, largely through cookies and comparable technologies. A third comes from the companies that provide services on our behalf, such as our payment processor, our analytics tools, and the carriers who deliver your order. A smaller amount reaches us from advertising and marketing partners.

How We Use It

The primary use is running the store and completing what you asked us to do: taking payment, preparing and dispatching your order, arranging delivery, handling returns and exchanges, maintaining your account, and answering your questions. We also use it to understand what is working in the store and what is not, so we can improve it.

We use contact details to send marketing messages where you have agreed to receive them, and to show you advertising on the store and elsewhere that reflects what you have looked at or bought. You can stop marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link at the foot of every message. We will still send you transactional messages about orders you have placed, because those are not marketing.

We use technical and transaction data to keep the store secure, to verify accounts, and to identify and stop fraudulent or unlawful activity. If you hold an account, keep your password to yourself and do not share your login. Finally, we use personal information where the law requires it, including responding to valid legal requests, dealing with disputes, and enforcing our own terms.

Who We Share It With

We share personal information with Shopify and with the service providers who work on our behalf, covering areas such as payment processing, hosting, analytics, customer support, fulfilment, and delivery. These companies handle your information to do a job for us and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

We share limited information with advertising and marketing partners so that the advertising you see is relevant rather than random. Shopify supports personalised advertising of this kind based on activity across different merchants, and those partners handle information under their own privacy notices. Depending on the state you live in, you may have the right to tell us not to share your information for targeted advertising, and you can do so by writing to us.

We share information when you ask us to, for instance when we pass a delivery address to a carrier. We may also disclose information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of business assets, and where we are legally obliged to, including in response to a subpoena, warrant, or other lawful demand, or to protect our rights and the safety of our customers.

We do not sell personal information for money.

Our Relationship with Shopify

The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes information about how the store is accessed and used in order to provide and improve that hosting. Information you submit may be transmitted to Shopify and to third parties that operate in countries other than your own. We also rely on certain Shopify features that draw on data from your interactions with our store, other merchants, and Shopify itself. For those features Shopify acts as the party responsible for processing that information, including handling any rights requests connected to it. Shopify publishes its own consumer privacy policy and privacy portal, which explain how it uses information and what choices you have.

Links to Other Sites

The store may link out to websites we do not operate. We have no control over those sites and no responsibility for their content, their accuracy, or how they handle your data, so read their own privacy terms before sharing anything. Anything you post in a public or semi-public space, including a social network, may be visible to others and used without restriction. A link on our store is not an endorsement unless we say plainly that it is.

Children

The store is intended for adults and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority where they live. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us information, write to us at the address below and we will remove it. As of the date of this policy we have no actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of anyone under sixteen.

Security and How Long We Keep Things

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, but no system is perfect and information sent over the internet is never entirely secure while in transit, so please do not send sensitive material through unsecured channels. How long we retain information depends on why we hold it: order records are kept to meet accounting and tax obligations, account records for as long as your account is open, and support correspondence for as long as it may reasonably be needed to resolve a dispute.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on the state you live in, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it if it is wrong, to ask us to delete it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. You may also have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising, and to opt out of marketing communications at any time.

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have rights of this kind under their own state statutes. These rights are not unlimited and there are circumstances in which we may decline a request, though we will tell you why. We will not treat you differently or refuse you service for exercising them.

To make a request, write to us at the email address below. We will need to verify your identity before we act, which usually means confirming details of an order you placed. You may use an authorised agent provided they can demonstrate you have authorised them. We respond within the timeframe the applicable law requires.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, contact us first and we will try to put it right. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to appeal a decision we make, or to raise the matter with your state attorney general's office.

Information Held Outside Your State or Country

We may store and process personal information outside the state where you live, and our service providers may hold it outside the United States. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to a comparable standard.

Changes to This Policy

We update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in how we operate or in the law that applies to us. When we do, the revised version appears on this page with a new date at the top, and we give any additional notice the law requires.
